New Restaurant/Venue Coming to Hyde Park: The Promontory

Owners and operators of several renowned Chicago eateries and venues such as Longman & Eagle, The Empty Bottle, Parson’s Chicken & Fish, Bite Cafe, Beauty Bar, among others is nearing completion of a brand new restaurant, bar and concert venue in Hyde Park, known as Promontory. The space is located on E 53rd street and South Lake Park Avenue, above the Akira flagship store, and is expected to open in the next few months.¬†Little is known about the new location, but if it will be anything like their other locations, we have full confidence that it will be great.

One of the many benefits of living in the South Loop, as RC residents know well, is easy access to many of Chicago’s fantastic neighborhoods. We’ve recently discussed the fantastic happenings in the gorgeous, nearby Hyde Park, and McCaffery Interests’ ongoing efforts to bring a a progressive and independent. We’re excited to see all the great changes in the coming months.

If you’re thinking of visiting the new 53rd Street Corridor, South Loop residents can hop on the 6 Bus on the corner of State and Balbo, which zips down Lake Shore Drive. Let us know what you think!

    To get the Promontory Restaurant in Hyde Park, you can also take the Metra and get off at the 53rd Street Station, and you’ll be right across the street from your destination.
